Ithel Davies (1894-1989) from Aberystwyth was a barrister and political activist. He was imprisoned as a conscientious objector during the First World War. In the 1935 general election he was the Labour candidate for the University of Wales seat. Ithel Davies was part of Mudiad Gweriniaethol Cymru, the Welsh Republican Movement, established in September 1949 as a result of a split at the Plaid Cymru conference of that year, and stood as the movement's candidate for the Ogmore seat in the 1950 general election.
