In 1821 he was ordained minister of Salem chapel, Cilcain and Rhes-y-cae chapel near Nannerch, Flintshire, where he also kept a school. He laboured long and hard to extricate Welsh chapels from debt and was recognised as an exemplary rural minister of his time. Owens contributed numerous articles to the Independent periodical Y Dysgedydd and published Holwyddoreg yr Ymneillduwyr Protestanaidd ... (Y Bala, 1851). / rank | |||
