Ganwyd Griffith Williams yn Y Rhondda ond fe'i magwyd ym Mhentywyn, Sir Gaerfyrddin. Gweithiodd i'r Western Mail, ymysg nifer o gyhoeddiadau eraill, fel newyddiadurwr a beirniad celf. Er iddo ymddeol yn 1969, bu'n gyfrannwr rheolaidd i dudalennau celf papur newydd wythnosol Plaid Cymru, Welsh Nation, yn y blynyddoedd cyn ei farwolaeth. Ynghyd â'i waith fel newyddiadurwr, yr oedd hefyd yn ysgrifennu nofelau, dramâu a cherddi. Cyhoeddwyd ei nofel Sands of Speed yn 1973. Priododd ei wraig Marion Eames yn 1955. Bu farw ar 28 Mawrth 1977.
