Neil Kinnock (b. 1942) was the Labour MP for the constituency of Islwyn, Gwent, from its creation in 1983 until 1995. Islwyn incorporated most of the former seat of Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, together with part of Abertillery, Monmouthshire. Neil Kinnock had served as Member of Parliament for Bedwellty, 1970-1983. He was Leader of the Labour Party, 1983-1992, and became a European Commissioner in 1995.
